Volunteering
Sacramento United flourishes thanks to the selfless support of volunteers who are integral to our club’s success. Their dedication enables our administrators to orchestrate memorable events and tournaments at esteemed venues like Granite. Volunteering is mandatory for acceptance into our Club and a fundamental part of the registration process. We depend on their support, as they form the backbone of our club’s achievements.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are communicated by the Club via email and can be signed up for directly through the Sac United website under DIBS( www.sacunited.com/dib_sessions). You are required to log in using your existing registration to access and sign up for volunteer opportunities.
DIBS will be the system used to track and verify hours worked. It is the family’s responsibility to keep track of their completed hours and to make sure DIBS reflects their actual completed hours. Your DIBS information will appear in your Sports Engine account for easy monitoring.

Volunteer Buyout (Optional): $450 To opt Out of Volunteer Hours
Sacramento United is a non-profit organization that relies on the dedication of parent volunteers to effectively manage our coaches, teams, and players. We expect each household to contribute 15 volunteer hours per playing season, totaling 15 hours over the course of the year, unless you have received Financial Aid.
We recognize that some families may find it challenging to allocate time for volunteering, and as such, we offer an alternative option.
For a fee of $450, you can choose to opt out of your MANDATORY volunteer duties. This payment will exempt you from participating in tournaments or other events. It’s important to note that failing to fulfill your volunteer requirement may also impact your player’s eligibility to participate.
Kindly ensure that payment is processed through SportsEngine. Thank you for your understanding and support.
LATE CANCELLATIONS
Volunteers are the backbone of any successful event sponsored by a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on our volunteers showing up and following through on the commitment they made. No-shows and last minute cancellations create a very stressful environment for organizers and volunteers who show up and worked as scheduled.
- A “No Show” or a cancellation within 48 hours of volunteer shifts totaling 6 or more hours per family will be subject to 1) a $50 fine or 2) the addition of the missed hours to your volunteer requirement. In the case of a medical emergency a doctor’s note will be required.
