Coaching Application Process
Sacramento United Soccer Club is always seeking Competitive Youth Soccer Coaches to join our coaching staff .
The ideal applicant with a background in playing the sport and some coaching experience. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to organize your team, and motivate and help our players develop into premier players that reflect the Club’s vision and soccer methodology.
The ideal applicant will have some formal experience coaching competitive youth players within a premier/select/travel club program and/or recreational program, be licensed or certified (UEFA, FA, NSCAA, USSF), and familiar with contemporary coaching methodology. Seeking a Coach willing to serve either our boys or girls teams (U8-U19).
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct practices two-three times per week (1.5 hrs minimum) during the standard club seasons (May through April)
- Create a year-round training & match schedule, including tournaments
- Attend all Friendlies, Tournament, and League games
- Provide player feedback to families
- Ensure a positive learning environment for all players
- Consistently manage team communications ensuring a high level of customer service
- Attend all staff meetings
- Ability to work independently, cooperatively, and collaboratively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- USSF/UEFA B license equivalent or higher
- Preference for candidates with demonstrated leadership, management and communications skills while managing or directing a successful youth soccer club.
- Proven track record of coaching teams or players in the top division of competitive, academy, college, and/or professional teams
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekend events.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to different locations
- Ability to initiate, coordinate and organize schedules/tasks through to completion accurately and on time
- Successfully pass criminal background check and complete Safesport and cardiac arrest training.
- Must be a US citizen or hold permanent resident status

The Sacramento United Soccer Club (Sac United) was formed in 1977. Sac United is one of the most established competitive soccer clubs in Northern California. Sac United has been identified as a Players First club by US Club Soccer, our teams compete in the NorCal Premier League and the National Premier League (NPL), MLS NEXT, and Girls Academy League (GAL).
We are proud of the Club methodology that produces technically sound players with a focus on possession-based style of play. The Club produces numerous players who compete in both the college and professional arenas. We are fortunate to be able to have priority use of our own facility, Granite Regional Park, which includes a lighted all-weather field and 7 full-size grass fields. Our coaches and teams train and play at one location, which provides a true club atmosphere.
Sacramento United Soccer Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, which proudly serves more than 860 boys and girls across 55+ competitive teams (ages 8-19) and more than 600 in our developmental Academy Program (ages 5-12).
