Sacramento, CA – Last Thursday, Sacramento City’s Parks and Community Enrichment Commission (PCEC) awarded Sacramento United the prestigious Volunteer Recognition Award for District 6.
Our partnership with Youth Parks and Community Enrichment, which has made Granite Regional Park our home field since 2010. Together, we’ve worked tirelessly to enhance and maintain this beloved regional park. From field creation and development to park maintenance and new field lighting, our contributions have been extensive. We’ve also taken great care in looking after the ponds, roads, and safety of areas surrounding the park. Recently, we even planted thirty-two trees to provide shade and cooler temperatures for all our participants and spectators, ensuring cleaner air for years to come.
We owe a huge thank you to each and every one of you, our dedicated players, parents, and coaches, for making Sacramento United a true leader in the region and a force for good. This award is a testament to our collective efforts in serving our community.
Our Club President, Alberto Regalado, graciously received the award on behalf of Sacramento United. In his brief overview, he highlighted the incredible work we continue to do for the region and our vision to do even more, with the support of our local community and leaders, in shaping today’s youth into outstanding players and even better young adults.
At Sacramento United, we’re not just a club; we’re a family. We serve over 1,000 youth annually through a diverse range of programs, starting from the tender ages of 3 and 4. Our commitment extends beyond soccer, with initiatives like Winter Wednesday and Free Friday camps, making inclusive sports accessible to all of Sacramento, not just District Six.
We couldn’t be prouder of this achievement, and it’s all thanks to you. Together, we’re making a lasting impact, and together, we’ll continue to grow and inspire. #oneclubonelove. With gratitude -Sac United.
